NAC (N-Acetyl Cysteine) is an amino acid precursor to Glutathione, the master antioxidant of the human body. Our glutathione reserves play a central role in the detoxification process of the body. Synthesizing glutathione requires a high level of metabolic activity. As we age, our glutathione reserves often decrease. Exposure to toxins, environmental and physical stressors can also decrease glutathione reserves. NAC is a highly respected nutraceutical in a clinical setting as it has saved many lives as it is an antidote for some liver injuries induced by drug/toxins, being a first line choice for acetaminophen overdoses.
It is well established that NAC is highly beneficial for liver function, it has also gained popularity as a premium anti aging compound.
Supplementing with NAC is the most cost effective way to safely increase glutathione levels, NAC provides the liver with an adequate supply of Cysteine, which is one of the rate limiting steps in this process.
Take 1-2 capsules per day, either all at once or
broken up throughout the day. N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) is a
stable form of the non-essential amino acid cysteine. It is a
sulfur-containing amino acid that acts as a stabilizer for the
formation of protein structures and is also necessary for the
formation of glutathione.* Molybdenum and selenium are
essential trace minerals that facilitate the production of several
important enzymes.
